Look Up!

Look Up! A couple of weeks ago, I was walking past the patio door when I noticed a squirrel peering through the glass door. I realized that squirrel was looking for my little dog, Phoebe. When Phoebe sees the squirrel in the back yard, she flies out that door and sits and stares intently at the spot in the tree where the squirrel is. Then the two of them begin to play. The squirrel jumps from tree to tree, and Phoebe follows on the ground. She carefully looks up so she knows the squirrel’s movements and where to go next.

For those of us who know Jesus as Lord and now have a unique relationship with God as His children, we should be watching Him intently. We should remain focused on things above, looking to Him to learn what our next steps should be. Christ’s death and resurrection has made it possible for us to have that kind of relationship with Him. Our Lord will lead us through this life and show us the things He has for us and the places we should go.

While we are on this earth, He can help us see things with an eternal per-spective. We can look toward the best that is yet to come. Look up, remain focused on Him, and follow His lead. an Open Windows devotion
